It comes from the company&#x2019;s own market-sizing model, and that distinction matters when different research firms publish different shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within that model, however, the direction is clear. Live wagering held 62.35% of the betting-type segment in 2025, while pre-match betting occupied the smaller share. The same report expects live betting to grow faster through 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mechanics of sport help explain why in-play markets have expanded. A football match can produce updated match-result prices, totals, player markets and next-event markets as the score and match state change. Tennis creates another sequence around sets, games and points. Grand View Research also identified football as the largest sport-specific segment in its separate global sports betting study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That overlap is useful because the two research firms measure the industry differently yet arrive at the same broad result for football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A weekend of league fixtures can generate pre-match markets for days, then <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_27ce9e2dade15afb0d31ca2454d6c685\"  href=\"https:\/\/comparebroadbandpackages.co.uk\/guides\/glossary\/switch\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>switch<\/a> into live pricing as each game begins. Mordor Intelligence, using a different segmentation method, says desktop still held 55.75% in 2025 but expects mobile to expand at a faster 13.75% CAGR through 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That difference is a good reminder not to combine percentages from separate reports as though they describe exactly the same dataset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It does not change the broader direction. Phones play a larger role in how people access online betting products, especially when markets change during a match. Opening a <a href=\"https:\/\/bizbet.io\/tr\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bizbet link<\/a> may begin at the web-access level, while the live product behind that access depends on continuously refreshed event and pricing data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technical work is easy to overlook. Its report puts Europe at about 48% of global sports betting revenue for that year and Asia Pacific as the fastest-growing regional market through 2033.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mordor&#x2019;s online-only model produces different regional numbers, which is another reason the percentages should not be mixed into one supposedly universal market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more consistent finding sits elsewhere: football remains the largest sport, live wagering has become a major part of online betting, and mobile is expanding quickly even when research firms disagree on its exact current share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/tracking.comparebroadbandpackages.co.uk\/three\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"three\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1223\">three<\/a> trends are now being measured from different angles.
