Definition of “Parity Bit” :

A “Parity Bit” is a bit added to binary data to detect errors during transmission. It ensures data integrity by checking whether the total number of 1-bits are even or odd. If the number of 1-bits is not as expected upon receipt, it indicates that an error has occurred during transmission.
