The “Token Bucket Algorithm” is a network traffic monitoring and shaping mechanism. It controls data transmission rates by adding ‘tokens’ to a ‘bucket’ at a set rate. Tokens are removed when data packets are sent. If the bucket is empty, data transmission is paused, preventing network congestion.
